A key International Women’s Day theme this year is 'Be Bold for Change'. FDWs exemplify this theme, having the courage to uproot themselves to live and work with new families, all to create a brighter future for themselves and their families at home. Each year an estimated two million women from the Philippines, Indonesia, Myanmar, Nepal and Thailand migrate overseas to seek work. Of the 237,100 [1] foreign domestic workers currently employed in Singapore, many still do not enjoy a regular weekly day off. We want to hold this event to recognise the hard work and courage of all FDWs in being Bold for Change.

To make a donation for this event, please mail a cheque payable to "Unifem Singapore" to our office address 352 Tanglin Road #01-09/10, Strathmore Block, Tanglin International Centre, Singapore 247671. Please indicate 'FDW Luncheon' at the back of the cheque. You can also donate to us here: http://www.unwomen-nc.org.sg/donate.acvx.
