#01-27, Laguna Park, Singapore, 449290 (Kate Porter Yoga Studio)

Stories of loss, longing, betrayal and endurance. More than 200,000 of Singapore’s 3-million strong labor force work as low-wage Foreign Domestic Workers (FDWs). 27 of these FDWs have collaborated with CARE and H.O.M.E by lending their voices to an exhibition titled Respect Our Rights, Voices of Foreign Domestic Workers. This digital storytelling exhibit not only allows these women to build skills and represent themselves, but also provides/allows the viewer a look into the everyday lives of an under-represented and often mistreated demographic. We invite you to witness the stories and share in the lives of Foreign Domestic Workers at the first viewing of this photo exhibition - Respect Our Rights, Voices of Foreign Domestic Workers - with the hope that awareness of the issues they face will result in the better treatment of FDWs.

The armed forces have traditionally been stereotyped with some of the following images: camouflage, top-down sergeant-corporate relations, guns and men with cropped hair.  Despite the occasional women on posters and promotional videos, there is little overall coverage of life in the armed forces as a female.  In salute to women’s service, Singapore Committee for UN Women will be holding a panel with amazing female servicewomen. Join us as they share their experiences and narratives having paved their way in the armed forces.
