: UNIFEM Singapore is a non-profit group working towards women's empowerment and gender equality. Our mission is to assist women and children in Singapore and in Southeast Asia by providing access to education, health, economic independence and a life free of violence and abuse.

End Violence against Women: Since 2006, we have been constantly promoting this cause and spreading the important message about the prevention of abuse and violence against women through the Help Anna microsite (www.helpanna.com), talk sessions and workshops. We are proud to say that in recent months, our school talk programs have already reached more than 500 students across Singapore.

SNOW (Say No To the Oppression of Women) Benefit: Started in 2005, the SNOW benefit has been our key fundraising drive in our calendar year ever since. To date, the event has raised more than $450,000 and funded UNIFEM initiatives to address violence against women in the Mekong region and Aceh. Proceeds from 2009 SNOW also went to support the Save Community Initiatives in Aceh which will develop training activities and build women's crisis centers in 23 districts. |

Day Off: We have put our best foot forward in vigorously publicizing this campaign which encourages employers to give their domestic workers a regular day off. The general public can log on to www.dayoff.sg for more information about this issue in Singapore. The Day Off 2010 campaign will be launched in the third quarter of the year. |

Buy To Save: More than $85,000 was raised during the annual Buy To Save sale on 12 and 13 December 2009. The funds raised at the event will go towards aiding girls and women's shelters in Singapore, education programs for at-risk girls, and public education to end violence against women.
